PRESENTATION
These concepts include ultra-compact loudspeakers developed by Fraunhofer IBP, one of TechnoFirst's partners. Their reduced volume (10 times smaller than that of a standard loudspeaker) helps simplify integration into the window and limit:
- The weight of the solution;
- Its bulkiness;
- The power consumption of the electronic treatment of the low-frequency noise;
- And the cost of these solutions.
WA:ACTIVE DOUBLE GLAZING
WA is a corrective acoustic system designed for thermal double glazing windows. These units intrinsically suffer from poor sound insulation.
Did you know?
Double glazing was initially designed and optimised for thermal insulation purposes, and its acoustic insulation performance is lower than that of single glazing with an equivalent total thickness. Low frequencies naturally affect the performance of double glazing windows. WA provides a correction in this area to achieve an acoustic insulation performance equivalent to that of single glazing.

WA integrates an electronic treatment into the joinery of double glazed windows. This is why TechnoFirst has developed an actuator specific to this application: the linear loudspeaker. This loudspeaker, combined with the sensors integrated into the window frame and an electronic controller, helps produce a counter-noise inside the air gap. This counter-noise helps effectively attenuate low-frequency noise, unlike traditional double glazing.
WA significantly improves the acoustic insulation performance of double glazed windows.
Performance: up to 35dB
Electronic treatment band: [20 - 400] Hz

*For example, an 8mm single glazed window has a sound reduction index of 35dB, whereas that of a 4/12/4 double glazed window (mm glass/air/glass) is only 30dB, which does not even achieve the performance of a 4mm single glazed window!
FA:FENETRE ACTIVE (ACTIVE WINDOW)
FA is a new sliding window concept making it possible to open a window without being exposed to external noise pollution.
To achieve this, TechnoFirst relies on the complementary nature of two treatments: electronic and passive. This combination helps achieve noise attenuation to 25dB.
Did you know?
Passive treatment consists of installing absorbing materials in the vicinity of the opening. Medium and high-frequency noises are absorbed during their passage. Electronic treatment helps attenuate low frequencies. The integration of sensors and ultra-compact loudspeakers (designed by Fraunhofer IBP) driven by a controller helps generate the counter-noise.

LA:LABYRINTHE ACTIF (ACTIVE LABYRINTH)
The LA system enables the natural ventilation of a room by minimising the intrusion of pollution (noise and atmospheric) from the outside.
Did you know?
Living areas must be aired every day to remove vapour from materials. However, aerating often means breathing in contaminated air and exhaust gas particles.
TechnoFirst proposes installing a labyrinth by the opening of the window, which consists of one or several ducts allowing the circulation of air. Each of these ducts includes an electronic treatment and anti-pollution filters. This helps attenuate noise across the audible spectrum and limit the intrusion of pollutant particles.

The LA system is therefore capable of reducing sound level up to 30dB compared with a traditional window left ajar.
